    cb20 Helps Clinton Community College Complete Landmark Campus Relocation

    New Location at SUNY Plattsburgh Now Fully Operational

    Plattsburgh, NY – Clinton Community College (CCC) completed its historic move to SUNY Plattsburgh last month, with the new campus now fully operational in its new location. The move marks a major step forward in preserving and strengthening access to public higher education in Clinton County – supporting long-term financial stability, protecting accreditation, and ensuring continued enrollment opportunities for North Country students.

    This collaborative transition involved months of detailed planning and coordination between CCC and SUNY Plattsburgh, with a shared focus on supporting students, faculty, and staff through every phase of the move. To ensure a seamless academic start, CCC partnered with cb20 – an award-winning IT and Audio Visual firm headquartered in Saratoga Springs, NY – to lead the technology design and implementation effort.

    The Challenge

    The relocation required a complete rebuild of classroom and instructional technology within a condensed timeline. Among the challenges:

    • Full infrastructure migration: Moving all classroom systems and technology into a new campus environment while maintaining academic continuity.
    • Aging technology: Much of CCC’s previous AV infrastructure was over 15 years old and unable to support modern teaching and collaboration.
    • Tight timelines: New classrooms needed to be presentation-ready on day one of the semester, with zero room for delay.

Our biggest concern with this project was definitely timing, and making sure that we were presentation ready by day one. We needed to at least be able to hold classes.     After a successful data center refresh with cb20, Clinton once again turned to its trusted technology partner – this time to manage the audio-visual systems critical to the campus relocation. cb20 delivered:

    • 10 classrooms modernized with ViewSonic interactive boards and Crestron AirMedia devices
    • Streamlined, modular systems that give faculty new ways to teach, present, and engage students
    • Hands-on project management from initial walkthrough to installation, with cb20 teams on site daily – early mornings through late evenings
    • Rigorous testing to ensure every classroom was “plug-and-play” ready before day one

    “We had classes on day one and had no issues. Everything was presentation ready. We had no complaints, and we actually did not have a single phone call on day one. Fifteen to twenty different instructors were all able to present in class with no issues.” 

    The Results: Day-One Success, Long-Term Partnership

    cb20 delivered on every promise in Clinton Community College’s Scope of Work, ensuring a flawless start to the semester with fully integrated IT and AV systems ready from day one. The outcome:

    • Zero downtime: Instructors walked into fully functional classrooms on the first day of classes.
    • Positive faculty experience: Professors tested systems in advance and praised the simplicity – “they just double-click, it works, they’re happy.”
    • Preferred experience: Faculty now say the new AV setup is better than what they had before.

    Looking Ahead

    Phase one of Clinton’s relocation is complete, with operations stabilized and classrooms fully functional. Future phases will expand integration with SUNY Plattsburgh systems and student services.
